Pregnancy Weeks 16-18

We turned 16 Weeks on Valentines Day ❤️ This week was a big week as we found out our angel is a beautiful baby boy! We are still in shock and can not believe we are blessed with a gorgeous son. We bought his pram, cot and car seat after a very long 3 hours in Baby Warehouse. Daddy chose everything and Mummy was very impressed with his taste. I am the most indecisive person in the world so I was very happy to let Rob take control and make the big decisions. I trust him. Baby Boy decided to really show this week and Mumma's tummy got round and hard! Sickness is completely gone, praise The Lord above. I am loving eating home cooked meals and I am even starting to cook again. I have finally put on all the weight I lost during my first trimester and am finally back to my pre pregnancy weight of 67.5kg. Now lets get this baby and bump growing. I'm craving cheese all day, every day, like crazy! I can not get enough! Which is hilarious because I am lactose intolerant but the lactose free version hits the spot nicely. I am starting to do some light weight activity in our pool at night time and going for walks and bike rides around our block. Easing into the exercise slowly. I am really feeling pressure in my chest when I lay down or slouch and hair hair hair is everywhere! Insomnia has hit...whyyyyy???....isn't it too early for that?? but I'll take it over nausea any day! Our little Valentine is growing beautifully and our OB is extremely happy with both of us.

Aunty Rachael bought baby boy his first dream catcher for his room!
It is very special.

17 Weeks...oh my goodness I can not believe we are here! We are now close to half way! This week has been fabulous and I'm feeling amazing! I've really started getting into the swimming and riding and I'm loving being able to move my body finally! Im taking advantage of it while I can. It is perfect for my mental state as well! Exercise endorphins exist and they are dam amazing. I've bought a few pairs of clothes for our son and we've been given some beautiful presents! I am only buying things here and there when I see things on special. Don't want to stock up too much! Sleep is non existent these days and the headaches are shocking! I'm just so happy I don't even care haha I finally bit the bullet and painted my nails. I haven't since my IVF because my acupuncturist told me to "get that poison off my nails" and I have freaked ever since. After a lot of research I found that polish that are '3 free' are safe during pregnancy so I finally added some colour :-) It makes me happy. This week my gorgeous nappy bag arrived and I am completely in love! It is beyond perfect! I also received some gorgeous organic baby lotions and products and I got 5 more nappies to add to our growing collection. I am right on track with my eating and variety is the key. I seriously just make random stuff and I love a plate of food that I can pick at. I purchased a beautiful harmony ball that i wear around my neck that chimes on my belly when I move and walk and hoping it will bring peace and calm to myself and our boy. It has been a pretty magical week. Keep growing my beautiful son

18 Weeks and I have started to feel my darling boy move this week! It has taken me all week to determine whether it was baby or just gas hehe but after restricting my food completely it definitely is baby! The joy of being lactose intolerant! I have put on .05kg and am now at 68kg and feel very 'full' My tummy is started to really fill out. I've got my first stretch mark on my breast because they won't stop bloody growing haha nothing on my tummy yet but I can't really feel my tummy stretching yet so I am sure that will come in the following weeks. I have tried to use different bely butters but I am trying to stay as natural as possible so I make a little mix of coconut oil and jojoba oil and put that on each night so I will see how that goes. I don't think you can really 'prevent' stretch marks with creams but if it softens my belly and makes it a little easier then I'll do it! I have had 4 nights of sleeping hell and 2 nights of bliss this week so that has been a bit of a ride but I've kept up my walking each day so I'm not letting the lack of sleep effect me! This week has flown and I'm still feeling blissfully happy.

Pregnancy Weeks 13-15

In my 13th week of pregnancy we had our NT scan and it finally started to become a bit more real. I was struggling with the fact that I was pregnant but didn't feel pregnant. The scan gave me some reassurance that yes there is a baby in there and yes it was ours. Baby is definitely nice and healthy as it is taking every single last bit of nutrients and substance I have. I feel completely crap but this is a good sign as it means baby is healthy. The sacrifice has begun ;-) This week I am still down from my pre pregnancy weight and have so far lost 4 kgs as I currently weigh 63.5kg. I had a massive massive craving for BBQ shapes and I literally had to buy a packet and open them and smell them just to try and cure it. I am coeliac so I can't eat them but smelling was close enough. My symptoms this week include ridiculously sore breasts and super sensitive nipples. I have blocked sinus constantly and really bad headaches. The dreaded 24/7 nausea is still hanging around and it's starting to get old. Hopefully I'll be able to eat again soon! All of this is worth it because I have a ridiculously cute baby growing inside of me so you know...you gotta take the good with the bad.

It's a complete celebration up in here as Morning Sickness All day sickness has started to ease. I do not want to jinx myself but I don't feel the constant nausea 24/7 and I'm starting to feel like eating food. It is seriously the best feeling in the whole entire world. I have eaten a home cooked meal every night this week so I feel like a totally new person. I have put on .05 of a kilo and am up to 64kg. I am trying to drink as much water as I can as I have been getting headaches so I'm trying to ensure it is not from dehydration. This week we cleaned out the baby nursery and it is ready to be stripped for new floors and fresh paint. This week I bought babies first item of clothing. 3 pieces for a girl and 3 pieces for a boy. This will be it until we find out the sex of our baby.

Baby officially came out to play this week. On Wednesday the 5th of February I woke up and my tummy felt 'full' This was the first time that I had felt this! We have had a good week this week. Nausea only hits when I don't keep up to my eating so I'm learning to keep on top of that. Headaches come and go but haven't been too bad this week. On Thursday night I had my very first and hopefully last vomit. Let's pray it was the grand finale. I have started having trouble sleeping at night but hey, everything cant be perfect right ;-) I will take the insomnia over nausea ANY DAY. I bought my first lot of maternity bras this week because nothing fits me anymore and these babies just keep growing and growing. They are sore as well and super super sensitive. I literally shower with my hands covering them because the pressure from the water kills. My weight is rising and rising and I will be so excited when I finally see the numbers of my pre-pregnancy weight after loosing all that weight from being so sick in the previous weeks. All in all it has been a pretty amazing week.

12 Week Scan

We finally reached the 12 week mark and we were booked in at our hospital for our N.T scan. To be completely honest with you deep down I was a little worried. I hadn't eaten in 3 months so how on earth could our baby be ok. I know the reason why I was so sick was because baby was taking all my goodness but it was still at the back of my mind. I wasn't that excited about this scan. I still wasn't 100% excited about this whole pregnancy business to be honest. This scan wasn't going to be any different to every single other 12 week scan I had seen by every single one of my friends baby's. They all look the same and it just pretty standard.

I tried to put it all out of my head and tell myself that it would be different and on the screen would be our baby. Our beautiful baby that we have waited for so long. The technician gelled me up and started the scan. Sure enough there was our baby. Mine and Robs baby. Our tiny, cute and extremely stubborn baby who proceeded to face its back to us the entire time! I literally could not stop laughing! This changed it all. This wasn't just like everyone else's scan. This was OUR scan. OUR stubborn cheeky baby who took 25 minutes of pushing, prodding, shaking and walking to get to turn around. It took that moment for me to finally click that I was having a baby.

There's our baby! Our cheeky little devil who thank the lord played up because it showed me that it was a part of us and "not like everyone else" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

Everything went perfectly with our scan. The nurse was extremely happy with our baby and all the signs pointed to a nice strong baby. This was a huge relief for us...well me...Rob never doubted it. It was so cool to be able to watch the baby move yet I could not feel a thing. Even though baby is tiny we could still see arms and legs and spine and all the important parts of its body. It was seriously cute.

After our scan we went to the hospital cafe for a drink and to flip through the 100's of photos we got to keep. We were sitting there looking through when this one caught my eye. I literally screamed everyone in the room stared. But seriously can anyone else not see what I saw???

There is our gorgeous baby just sitting in Mummy's tummy. 1 knee up and the other crossed. 1 elbow leaning on the knee that is up and the other arm with its hand in its crutch! Seriously!!!! Rob and I nearly died! If this is not the most amazing 12 week scan photo I don't know what is. I cried and cried in the middle of the cafe. That was our baby. Just chilling. This made it all worth it.
This single moment of seeing this photo changed everything.

Now I know I said that all 12 week scan photos look the same but omg look at that gorgeous face. I might be bias but holy moly that kid is cute.

Pregnancy Weeks 9-11

What a year 2013 was! It seriously was one of the best years of my life. I traveled to America, competed in Tough Mudder and fell pregnant with our beautiful IVF baby.
You just cant beat that!

We celebrated 2013 and welcomed 2014 with dear friends camping. It was so good to just relax and chill out and sit around the fire. No crazy parties for us this year. I liked this better! It fit and was the perfect way to welcome one of the most important years of our lives.

Once New Years came and went I had 4 days left of my 2 week break from work. Mum, Dad and I took advantage of the time and hit the road and traveled up north to visit my grandparents. I haven't been up there in years and knew I knew needed to go! It's my favourite place in the world and it was important for me to be with my family.

~ 10 Weeks ~

Once we got home it was straight back into work and routine. It was so good to not focus on my sickness and just put all my energy into my little ones...and silently die at the end of each day haha I attempted to go back to training once I hit 11 weeks and tried one session but was severely sick for 3 days after. I literally didn't eat for the first 3 months of my pregnancy so I felt it wasn't safe for me to be exercising when I couldn't fuel my body at the same time. I tried a few walks here and there but my training was a thing of the past and was put on hold until I could eat and gain some strength.

~ 11 Weeks 3 Days ~

We also made our first purchase for baby's nursery during week 11. Rob and I took one day to go look at baby furniture and big ticket items. We wanted to get an idea at how much things were and get a feel of what we liked. Well we saw these set of drawers and both fell in love. It is a black vintage dresser and it is just perfect. This will be used as drawers and the change table. I love love love it!
