Girls Weekend in Sydney

As soon as I saw this I absolutely knew I had to be there! I'm a musical queen and I've been going to musicals and ballets since I was a young girl. My mum introduced me to the beauty of the stage and I have had a love affair ever since. Legally Blonde, I knew, would be no exception. It was only playing in Sydney and I did not want to miss out on the chance of seeing it, so a trip to Sydney was planned. It was my cousins birthday and she wanted to go to a few destinations in Sydney as well, so we made a weekend of it! On the 17th of November we woke up at 3.30 in the morning and flew down to Sydney for a jam packed and totally awesome weekend! My 2 cousins, my aunty and myself. The four of us let loose in a town of shopping , markets, coffee shops and restaurants. Hello dream weekend.

We spent most of Saturday shopping. I hate shopping. I know, crazy right, but unless I'm on a mission, I just don't like it. Sydney however, was a different surrounding, different atmosphere, a whole new ball game. I enjoyed it. Shop after shop I kept finding little beauties...of course I didn't buy any of it but I just enjoyed looking around and dreaming. The day went fast and it was time for dinner. We went to Jamie Oliver's new Resturant in Sydney and wholey moley was it cool and wholey moley did I eat a feast. A gluten free feast I might add! Yes that's right, Jamie Oliver had gluten free alternatives for every meal! Thanks Jamie! What a champ! Oh my gosh my meal was to die for! It was a prawn and chilli pasta. I died and went to heaven. I ordered the main size and smashed it in less than 10 minutes. Just to be able to order a pasta meal from a fancy Resturant was simply heaven to this coeliac.

Our bill - you seriously couldn't get this price if you tired! Tre cool!

After our dinner was loved, adored and almost married, we walked on over to star city for my favorite part of the night. Legally Blonde!!!!

Ok I am really going to struggle with finding the words for this Musical. It was freaking HILARIOUS! I was totally not expecting it to be so funny. I love love loved the movie and when I saw that Lucy Durrack, ERIKA HEYNATZ, Cameron Daddo and my favorite person in the world, Rob 'Millsy' Mills was performing in it I just knew that it would be awesome. It seriously was THE funniest musical I have ever seen. The actors were all brilliant and I honestly could not choose a favorite! Erika's totally mind blowing performance with the skipping ropes however completely topped my list as one of the greatest scenes of all time! That girl rocked it! It is coming to Brisbane now so you MUST go and see it. The music was awesome, the story line was spot on and the actors were truly brilliant. Oh and who wouldn't love an entire show of Millsy ;-)

My OOTN ~ Fluro and Nude! Love!

Yes I lined up after the show at the stage door just so I could meet him. My 20 year old self would have been dying right now. Who am I kidding, my 26 year old self was dying haha

Sunday was spent at Paddy Markets and Darling Harbour. More of a relaxed day but still great to get out and see the sights and experience new things. Actually a big huge special mention to the 'Mecure hotel' for putting on an amazing buffet breakfast that was completely gluten free! Every single item of food was labeled either 'gluten free' or 'contains gluten' so there was never a question. I felt so relaxed and at ease and once again I ate a feast. Thank you so much 'Mecure hotel' for going that little bit further to provide for your guests. This coeliac once again appreciated it!

Sunday night saw us flying home just after sunset. The flight down and back could not have been any more perfect. For a severe motion sickness sufferer I think I can safely tick flying off my list. A swing in a park...forget it...but flying...I am all over it.

What a show. What a feast. What a flight, What a weekend. Everything was perfect. I could not have been happier. Thank You Gilly, Bobbi and Cassi.
It was an Awesome girls weekend away.
Love you all.

Leaving Footprints

There comes a time in everyone's life when you have to choose. You have to choose who you keep in your life and who you choose to let go. Then there are the times when life chooses for you. When friendships for whatever reasons fall apart and you struggle to keep them alive. A few years ago I fought hard. I fought against everything I knew and I fought to keep a very special friendship alive. Unfortunately life threw in obstacles and wires were crossed and we had to accept that life was putting us on separate paths. Heartbroken and confused I took the time to move on and try not to let it effect me too much. I must confess I never healed. I always wondered! Wondered how their lives turned out. I always had the 'what ifs?' I missed her, I missed him, I missed our Tuesday dinners. A lot has happened in 4 years. A lot of life's most special moments have happened and I've missed them. I always think about her and our friendship. On her special days, on her sons birthday, on News Years eve...all those days we created special memories on. It's been four years and I'm not ready to let go. That has to mean something...right?
