18 Minutes

Last night I went to the gym for my favourite class Body Combat. I have 2 favourites. Body Combat and Body Pump. ha ha ha. Who would of thought hey? Half way through I had to ditch. I have never given up in the whole time I have been at the gym! I literally had to walk out of the class half way through and I was fuming at myself. My back had flared up last week and the twisting and turning and kicking in combat just absolutley killed me and I had to stop. I had to be real and think about looking after myself. I knew I couldn push myself, even though I wanted to.

I went straight onto the treadmill to warm down my body. After 2 minutes of walking something inside snapped and I started running. I ran and I didn't stop. I don't know whether it was the anger from having to walk out of the class or the determination to push myself but I ran and ran. I didn't have any music on and I wasn't measuring my distance. All I had was the timer on my treadmill. My plan was to run 3 minutes, walk 2 minutes. That's what I can do. I can run 3 minutes. Easy. Well nope I just kept running and didn't stop and I ended up running 18 MINUTES! A massive fist pump for that. That is by far the longest I have ever run in my life. I pushed myself last year and ran for 6 minutes and I thought that was pretty awesome, but 18, holy gosh! Amazing!

I caught the running bug last night.
Now I want to keep pushing myself and see where I can take this.
It was simply mind over matter. That's it. Nothing else.
Let's see where this takes me.

That's awesome! I find running really hard. 18 minutes seems like a long time. And I KNOW it will soon feel like nothing to you! You go!!

18 minutes of running is amazing! I walk on the treadmill, haven't built myself up to run on it yet. I also had a back injury a few months ago that put me back in the gym. It's so frustrating to not be able to workout due to injury. Happy running.

yay for running! I've been running for about a year and half now. I used to HATE it SO much. And right now I'm doing like nothing, it's so stinkin cold out, and I'm a baby about the cold haha

I love running on a treadmill- although I need music/ tv... The seratonin release is so addictive.... I just resigned with a gym that has a creche for my 1 and 2 year olds.... All the best with the running bug- see you at the finish line x
